The foot rest (1) has a rectangular step plate (2) supported on two long foot elements (3,4), with upper longitudinal trough-shaped guide channels provided side by side with their heights decreasing towards the center of the step plate. The underneath of the step plate has two transverse long spaced support elements, with their underneath sides also dome-shaped to match the guide channels, to slide in the channels.
