<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for wet-spraying a monolithic refractory excellent in trimmability, adhesion, and working safety. <P>SOLUTION: The method for wet application comprises pressure-feeding a monolithic refractory pre-kneaded with water of application to a nozzle 2, adding an accelerating agent to the pre-mixed refractory at or just before the nozzle 2. The stock refractory composition of the monolithic refractory contains refractory ultramicroparticles with particle diameters of 20 μm or smaller. Calcium nitrate is used as the accelerating agent.
