The network termination unit includes an integrated universal serial bus (USB) interface (US) which can be connected with the network (KN) via a data matching interface (DS). The data matching unit is connected with an ICE component. The data matching unit can be formed by microprocessors. A data exchange is carried out between the communication network and USB interface. A personal computer can be connected to the network termination unit using a plug connector.
