<p>An image display device (1) comprising a light modulation panel (2), an illumination device arranged opposite the light modulation panel (2) and a light source (8) connected to the illumination device. The illumination device comprises at least one separating layer (4) which has at least one flat surface (13) extending parallel to the light modulation panel (2) and a serrated surface (9) situated on a side which faces away from the flat surface (13). Said serrated surface (9) includes a number of sawtooth-shaped, juxtaposed projections (10) which are each bounded by a first (11) and a second (12) separating surface, the first (11) separating surface enclosing an acute interior angle (α) with the flat surface (13) and the second (12) separating surface enclosing an obtuse interior angle (β) with the flat surface (13).</p> |
