PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display is provided to control the electric field direction of front end portions of pixel electrodes of opposite electrodes in the rotation direction of liquid crystal by forming curved portions at the front end portions by curving oppositely from the liquid crystal alignment direction. CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal display includes a pair of substrates facing to each other with a predetermined distance, a liquid crystal layer fitted between the substrates, a plurality of scanning signal lines(2) and image signal lines(12) formed on either of the substrates intersecting each other, thin film transistors provided in the intersections of the scanning and image signal lines, comb-shaped pixel electrodes(10) composed of a plurality of electrodes connected to the thin film resistors and parallel to the image signal lines, and comb-shaped opposite electrodes(11) in parallel to the plurality of electrodes of the pixel electrodes and disposed alternately, wherein curved portions(10a) are further provided to front end parts of either the pixel electrodes or the opposite electrodes and the curved portions are curved oppositely from the alignment direction of liquid crystal with respect to the image signal lines.
