A paving slab for restoring historic paved areas has matching ceramic tiles and/or decorative stones (A) applied to a concrete support base (C) using a bonding layer (B). The prepared slab is dry laid directly into position and is immediately load bearing. The process can be applied to any shape of paving and with any required surface relief. The bonder has mineral and organic components and is applied in spots onto the concrete base. The decorative tiles/stones are pressed in place, e.g. using a hydraulic press. The prepared slabs can be laid manually or by machine.
