A radiator of a light emitting unit and a backlight device are provided to efficiently conduct heat generated from a plurality of light emitting diodes to a radiating element by a radiating plate and a heat pipe, and promote the efficiency of a cooling function and reduce the thickness of a light emitting unit by closely adhering the heat pipe to a heat pipe insertion fitting concave part of the radiating plate. A radiator is installed at a light emitting unit formed of a plurality of light emitting diodes(12) mounted at the same axial line on a first main surface(19a) of a printed circuit board(19). A radiating plate is assembled with a second main surface opposite to the first main surface of the printed circuit board, having the first main surface as an overlapped surface, and has a heat pipe insertion fitting concave part(24b). A heat pipe(25) is attached to the heat pipe insertion fitting concave part of the radiating plate, maintaining a close adhesion state with an inner wall. |
