PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the fault due to almanac information unable to be received. SOLUTION: In a GPS positioning system 1 in which a GPS receiver 3 performs narrowing down of a satellite search range by utilizing the almanac information stored in a storage region 2a of a memory unit 2 and to which a geolocation operation unit 4 performs a geolocation operation using received Ephemeris information at a timing to a C/A code from the satellite, for which it has been looked; the almanac information and outline orbital information which simplified information, in a range which can perform satellite position operation, in similar accuracy level as that of the almanac information are formed by a transformation formula, defined beforehand by a transducing unit 7, excluding a compensation term which cannot be used, if the term of validity has passed, and is conserved at the storage region 2a. Accordingly, even if the opportunity for acquiring the almanac information from the received signal is small and that receiving integrity of the signal from the satellite is poor or the power supply is intercepted immediately, after positioning finalization, it will search for the satellite in a short time, and the positioning can be performed.
