FIELD: washing machines. ^ SUBSTANCE: method of controlling operation of washing machine is based upon measurement of temperature of water applied into vapor generator to produce vapor inside drum, warming of water up in vapor generator during preset period time and upon calculation of difference between temperature of warmed water and comparison of this difference with at least one or more check temperatures. Decision on absence or presence of malfunctions in operation of vapor generator is made on base of calculated difference in temperatures. ^ EFFECT: reduced water consumption; detection of error or malfunction of washing machine. ^ 13 cl, 7 dwg
