PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery high in safety, and capable of preventing jumping-out of a power generation element or the like when the internal pressure of the battery is increased by an internal short circuit or the like. SOLUTION: In this battery 10, the power generation element 15 comprising a positive electrode plate and a negative electrode plate is stored in a battery case 11 formed by stacking a first laminate film 12 and a second laminate film 13 on each other and welding edge parts thereof to each other. A positive electrode lead terminal 16 and a negative electrode lead terminal 17 are connected to the positive electrode plate and the negative electrode plate, respectively; the positive and negative electrode lead terminals 16 and 17 are sandwiched between the first laminate film 12 and the second laminate film 13 at edge parts of the battery case 11, and partial parts thereof are thermally welded through tab films 18 and led out to the outside from the battery case 11. In at lease either of the positive and negative lead terminals 16 and 17, welding strength to the first laminate film 12 is set lower than that to the second laminate film 13.
