PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of performing appropriate wireless communication. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is equipped with a wireless communication function for exchanging information with another terminal device by using a wireless communication means. The image forming apparatus includes a directivity-controlled antenna to be used for exchanging radio waves by means of the wireless communication function. The image forming apparatus uses the directivity-controlled antenna to measure the direction of a communicating party, and controls directivity of the directivity-controlled antenna in accordance with a result of the measurement.
