PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a facsimile machine capable of preventing facsimile printing on a form that is not for facsimile, and the control method of the facsimile machine. SOLUTION: A form setting is acquired (step S100). When the acquired form setting does not indicate A4 normal paper (step S110: Yes), a reception setting is changed to manual reception wherein a predetermined operation to an operation unit is needed when performing facsimile printing (step S120). Consequently, a user can confirm the kind of a form placed on a placing part before facsimile printing is performed, so facsimile printing on the form which is not for facsimile can be prevented.
