A method for storing carrot roots in stationary storage facilities. During storage the roots are in the state of eubiosis, with this aim, while harvesting, healthy roots with the haulm cut-off without damaging the head are selected. They are simultaneously planted into soil beds in premises with natural lighting, the beds are set on the floor, storage shelves, in box packages. A planting layer of a bed is by 3- larger than the longest root, the growing space of a single root is larger by 4-5 сm than the diameter of the upper part, the head is not covered with soil while planting, an air temperature in a premise is from 8-10 °С to 15-20 °С, a soil moisture content is 60-65% of the minimum moisture-holding capacity. The cultivation of plants consists in providing slow growth thereof and keeping the development of leaves at the lawn level which is achieved by mowing. |
