The present invention relates to a novel Micractinium KNUA029 strain capable of producing fatty acid, and a method for producing fatty acid using the same. The Micractinium KNUA029 strain has cool resistance, thereby efficiently producing fatty acid even at a low temperature. Thus, fatty acid produced by the strain can be useful as a raw material for drugs, foods, and cosmetic products.
