Abstract A method for straightening a user's hair comprising providing a hair straightening brush comprising a heat application area including a plurality of heating element protruding ends, wherein the heat application area for delivering heat to a user's hair; and a plurality of spacers arranged so that at least some of the spacers are positioned so as to be surrounding the heat application area; wherein at least one spacer is positioned to be on top of at least one heating element protruding end causing the heat application area of the hair straightening brush to increase to a temperature useful for straightening hair; and brushing the user's hair with the hair straightening brush so as to straighten the user's hair.
