PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for suppressing hand return of design of an equipment suspension member mounted outside an aircraft.SOLUTION: When the shape of a flat tabular equipment suspension member mounted outside a helicopter is designed, the optimum shape of the equipment suspension member is derived S4 to be lightest while satisfying a prescribed design condition relative to a set design area based on setting S1 of the shape of a base, selection S2 of a material, and setting S3 of the design area of optimization analysis. Then, it is determined S5 whether the derived optimum shape can be processed by prescribed processing facilities or not.
