PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of estimating the damaged portion of a building, which method does not require mounting of a sensor on each layer even in a multi-layer structure and furthermore allows for identification of the presence or absence of the damage of the structural member of each layer.SOLUTION: The method of estimating the damaged portion of a building is provided in which: a deformation amount recording device is installed only in a ground floor or a foundation in a building provided with an earthquake-proof brace at least in the ground floor or the building provided with a seismic isolator in the foundation; a rate of the horizontal displacement of each floor for the horizontal displacement of the ground floor or the foundation is calculated from a primary unique mode by a unique value analysis; the horizontal displacement of each floor is identified from the horizontal displacement of the earthquake proof brace mounting place or the horizontal displacement of the earthquake-proof device mounting place; and the presence or absence of the damage is identified by calculating a stress of each member of each floor of the building by a static elasto-plastic analysis.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
