PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector capable of making settings according to the mounted lens device regardless of whether the lens device includes a memory unit which stores identification information such as the name (model name) of the lens device, a method for setting the lens device mounted on the same, and a program.SOLUTION: A projector which can replace a lens device including a zoom ring for adjusting a zoom state and a focus ring for adjusting a focus state, and projects an image using the mounted lens device includes: an acquisition unit which acquires each movable range of the zoom ring and focus ring of the mounted lens device; and a control unit which sets the rotational positions of the zoom ring and focus ring on the basis of each of the movable ranges acquired by the acquisition unit.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1A
