A wet-type electric precipitator and an air purifying apparatus using the same are provided to clean a precipitating panel with the cleaning water before the dust is stuck on the precipitating panel and to prevent an electric leakage or a short circuit. A wet-type electric precipitator(100) is composed of: a cylinder-shaped body frame(1); a cylinder-shaped precipitating panel(11) installed in the body frame at a predetermined gap; and plural discharge electrodes(8) installed in a direction of a center axis of the body frame. The cleaning water is filled into a gap by closing up the lower end of a gap between the body frame and the precipitating panel. The cleaning water flows over along an inner wall of the precipitating panel by opening the upper end of a gap between the body frame and the precipitating panel. |
