A control rod is adapted to be introduced into a core of a light water reactor along a longitudinal axis (x) of the control rod. The control rod (1) comprises a casing (2) enclosing an inner space and having an inner surface (2') facing the inner space (3) and an opposite outer surface (2") facing outwardly. At least one absorber body (7) providing in the inner space. The casing is manufacturing in a structural material of an iron-based or a nickel-based alloy. The inner surface of the casing has an electrically insulating surface layer. |
