<p>The present invention relates to a method for cutting wood (1) using thermal degradation, wherein an automatic control system is used during the cutting process in order to maintain the value of the instrument advance force onto the wood in a given interval. This automatic control system comprises a closed-loop circuit, whereby control is performed by modifying the power of the electrical current used to heat the cutting part (2) of said instrument. This method for cutting wood using thermal degradation provides good-quality cuts and allows for a wide range of advance force levels during the cutting process, including upon an interruption of said advance followed by resumption of the cutting process. This method may also be used for cutting wood without damaging the cutting part (2) of the instrument while maximising the yield which is thus only limited by the resistance characteristics of said cutting parts.</p> |
