<p>A device comprising a slidable fastener stringer (8, 8') attached to a hollow channel member (2, 2'), wherein the channel member (2, 2') has an upper and a lower edge (7, 7' and 6, 6') defining a longitudinal opening (14, 14') for receiving and holding the interlocking elements (18, 18') and/or a portion of the tape (17, 17') of the stringer (16, 16') belonging to an inoperable slidable fastener. The device is used particularly to remedy the problem of an inoperable fastener already installed on the article, without removing the inoperable fastener from its article, by connecting the device to the old stringers (16, 16') thereby interposing a functioning fastener (12) in the article between the stringers (16, 16') of the existing, inoperable fastener.</p> |
