Beschrieben wird ein Verfahren zur Farbaufhellung von polymeren Diphenylmethandiisocyanat durch Bestrahlung mit Licht einer Wellenlänge von 250 nm bis 2500 nm sowie die Verwendung dieses aufgehellten Diphenylmethandiisocyanats als Isocyanatkomponente bei der Herstellung von Polyurethankunststoffen nach dem Isocyanat-Polyadditionsverfahren.
