OPTICAL MODULATOR CIRCUIT AND METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple optical modulator circuit and an optical modulation method thereof such that optical modulation and optical-level multiplexing of a plurality of input electric signals are performing in the one optical modulator and neither an electric multiplexing circuit nor a mixing circuit is necessary since an optical modulator circuit which optically modulates input electric signals after multiplexing them at electric level by a mixing means is easily affected by frequency characteristics of the mixing means and a detour signal generated through the mixing means.

SOLUTION: Electrodes are provided for every multiple arms of an optical modulator, and electric signals are applied for every electrode and optically multiplexed after phase modulation for every arm.
