<p>A method of measuring the instantaneous parameters of a consumable electrode (1), said method including the steps of: (a) providing a laser measuring means (15) and positioning the laser measuring means in the vicinity of the electrode to be measured; (b) activating the laser measuring means to obtain data relating to the instantaneous parameters of the consumable electrode; and (c) transferring the data obtained from the laser measuring means to computer data processing and storage means to determine the instantaneous parameters of the electrode.</p> |
