PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display images and characters on a portable telephone so that they can be recognized easily. SOLUTION: This display method includes a step (S104) wherein a display area for an image of original size and a display area having an extra display area for characters of a standard font are calculated, a step (S110) wherein a display area for characters of a reduced font is calculated and the display area for the image of the original size and the display area for the characters of the reduced font are added together to obtain a display area, a step (S114) wherein, when the display area for the reduced font is larger than a displayable area, the reduction rate of the image is obtained so that the image can be displayed in the area left after the reduced-font character display area is excluded from the displayable area, and a step (S116) wherein the image reduced at the calculated reduction rate and the characters of the reduced font are displayed. |
