<p>A material for spreading on road surfaces to produce a white line comprises an aqueous emulsion of a white resinous binder, particularly albino bitumen, mixed with a white mineral filler, the emulsion containing a stabiliser, particularly casein, and the material having a consistency such that it may be laid cold by means of a scraper box. The filler may be titanium dioxide, white sand, carbonate of lime or a mixture of these, the amount of filler being preferably of the order of 75 per cent by weight of the material, excluding the water.
