For the modification of hip joint components, following a proximal femur fracture, a dynamic hip screw (DHS) is inserted into the hip component (1) through the upper end of the femur (2) The central axial drilling of the hip screw (3) has a conical taper (4) towards the tip, sealed by a plug (5). A syringe (6) at the lateral end of the hip screw injects bone cement (7) to pass out through side openings (10) into the porous bone material at the head (8) of the femur.
