The spring unit with a damping element (i) and a damping bearing (ii) for motor vehicles comprises a thermoplastic top cover (vi) joined to the vehicle bodywork via laterally protruding sections (viii) with bores (ix), and a thermoplastic bottom cover (v) which is joined to the top cover by shape, material bonds and/or forces. Independent claims are also included for (a) a method for installing the proposed spring unit into a vehicle bodywork; (b) a motor vehicle with such spring units.
