The present invention provides a novel spray pump inspection apparatus and method, which allow for accurate acceptability check of a spray pump even with an actuator attached to the spray pump, and are superior in inspection capability and operability to the prior art. The inventive spray apparatus is adapted to inspect a spray pump (20) which sprays a liquid from a container, and includes vibration sensors (2, 3) to be positioned adjacent the spray pump (20), and abnormality detection means (6) which detects spraying abnormality of the spray pump (20) on the basis of low frequency signal components of not higher than a predetermined frequency contained in detection signals generated by the vibration sensors (2, 3) when the spray pump (20) is actuated in air. <IMAGE>
