Sensor element

The Hall effect sensor (46) measures the magnetic field from a permanent magnet (16) which moves. The sensor is connected to a base component (40) and has a metallic cover (42) associated with it, and spaced away from it. A lead (60) connects to the sensor and is passed through the cover and/or base component. At the other end, the lead is connected to a voltage source or an evaluation instrument.
