<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ceramic package which can fasten surely its metal lid to the upper side of its seal ring. <P>SOLUTION: With respect to a ceramic substrate 11 of the ceramic package, a cavity 22 is formed as opened in a substrate surface 12. Further, a surface-side metallized layer 41 is formed on the substrate surface 12, and a brazing-material layer 29 is formed on the surface-side metallized layer 41. Moreover, a seal ring 25 is brazed to the surface-side metallized layer 41 via the brazing-material layer 29, and a metal lid 26 is fastened to the upper side of the seal ring 25 by seam welding. Also, metallized conductors 33 subjected to the continuity to the surface-side metallized layer 41 are formed on the surfaces of recesses 32 present on side surfaces 17 of the ceramic substrate 11.
