PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a nail varnish having good dispersion of particles, particularly pigment, and having good tone of color with the passage of time, having stability and good uniformity and having a film having satisfactory covering power when further applied to the nails. SOLUTION: A nail varnish composition comprises a cosmetically acceptable medium and at least one thixotropic thickener and the composition has a viscosity at 25°C of at least 0.6 Pa s.
