An axle drive gear of a direct drive type is provided to obtain a short structure by supporting a differential gear in an inside of a ring gear and to shorten an installation length by disposing a shielding slide of a clutch within the ring gear. An axle drive gear of a direct drive type includes an output pinion engaged with a ring gear(1) and a driving pinion. The ring gear is independently supported. A differential unit includes a clutch(3). The ring gear is separated from the differential body though the clutch. An output pinion(5) is operated through a driving pinion(4) and the ring gear in an idling state of the differential body. The differential body is supported within the ring gear. A shielding slide of the clutch is disposed in the inside of the ring gear.
