PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electromagnetic actuator where a movable member is held by a right or left end at still time and electromagnetic force generated by interaction of current flowing in a coil at starting time and magnetic force by a permanent magnet is not reduced. SOLUTION: The electromagnetic actuator is provided with a fixing member 150 to which a main coil 140 is wound and a movable member 120 to which the permanent magnets 130a and 130b generating magnetic force orthogonal with a winding face of the main coil are fitted. The movable member moves by force caused by interaction of magnetic force generated by the permanent magnet and current flowing in the main coil. A magnetic substance 160 holding the movable member in positions at ends of a moving path in cooperation with the permanent magnet is arranged in the center of the fixing member. An auxiliary coil 165 is wound so that it surrounds the magnetic substance so as to solve the problem. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
