PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology advantageous for enhancing effects of preventing deterioration of an organic EL element, in case drying members are arranged in recesses fitted to one of the main faces of a sealing substrate. SOLUTION: The organic EL display device is provided with a support substrate SUB, an organic EL element supported to one of the main faces of the support substrate SUB, a sealing substrate CS facing the organic EL element with a plurality of recesses RC communicated with each other through grooves TC provided at the main face facing the organic EL element, and forming a hollow body together with the support substrate SUB, and a plurality of drying members DS each containing a desiccant and arranged in each recess RC.
