摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make appropriate evaluations when evaluating whether the fuel consumption of an engine is in a favorable condition or not in improving fuel efficiency. SOLUTION: A minimum engine output required to maintain vehicle speed V and make it constant is made an ideal engine output Pc. Then a minimum fuel consumption rate required to obtain the ideal engine output Pc is calculated by using a map which is stored in a memory 5a of an electronic control device 5, and is made an ideal fuel consumption rate R. The map regulates the relationship of the amplitudes between the minimum fuel consumption rate required to obtain a predetermined engine output and the engine output. By determining the ideal fuel consumption rate R by using the map, the ideal fuel consumption rate R becomes an optimal value as the target value of the fuel consumption rate used for improving fuel efficiency. Then the fuel consumption amount at the ideal fuel consumption rate R during an established period of time is made an ideal fuel consumption amount Qr, and fuel consumption of the engine 1 is evaluated based on the comparison between the ideal fuel consumption amount Qr and the actual fuel consumption amount Q.
