PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shaft sealing structure of a centrifugal compressor free to shorten its length in the axial direction without increasing the number of drilled holes and the number of parts. SOLUTION: A labyrinth ring 11 is supported on an inner peripheral part of a casing 4. A plurality of labyrinth groups 10 are supported with intervals in the axial direction on an outer peripheral part of a rotation axis 1. A plurality of annular pressure equalizing chambers 5 are formed with intervals in the axial direction on the inner peripheral part of the casing 4. A plurality of carved parts 7 expanding an outer peripheral part of each of the pressure equalizing chambers 5 radially outward in a part in the circumferential direction and the plurality of drilled holes communicating each of the carved parts 7 and an outer part of the casing 4 are formed on the casing 4. Each set made of the carved part 7 and the drill hole 6 is formed in a plurality of phases in the circumferential direction different from one another so as not to interfere with one another.
