PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily install a compact coin roll opening device to an existing coin handling device in a simple structure. SOLUTION: The coin roll opening device is provided with: a cutter member 110 having an arm part 111 whose one end part is pivoted at a placing table 30 with its upper end part arranged along a horizontal direction and a protrusion part 112 like a hook protrusively formed from the other end of the arm downward in a rotation plane of the arm, the protrusion part 112 being movable between a storage position A which is located below the upper end part of the placing table 30 and a coin roll insertion position B where a coin roll insertion space 160 is formed by the upper end part of the placing table 30, the arm part 111, and the protrusion part 112 to insert the coin roll 50; a cutter member 110 with a cutter 113 mounted at a portion facing the coil roll insertion space 160 to cut the package of the coil roll 50; a pulling knob member 130 formed at the upper end part of the cutter member 110 for rotating the cutter member from the storage position A to the coin roll opening position B; and a spring 140 for pressing the cutter member 110 toward the storage position A.
