PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector capable of preventing overheating inside a casing when a ventilation fan stops. SOLUTION: The projector 1 includes a first fan (intake fan 43) for sucking outside air by normal turning operation and exhausting air inside the casing to the outside of the casing by reverse turning operation, a second fan (ventilation fan 44) for exhausting air inside the casing to the outside of the casing by normal turning operation, a fan control part 41 for controlling the rotation of the first and second fans, a fan rotation detecting part 42 detecting the rotation of the second fan. If the fan rotation detecting part 42 detects stop of the second fan while the fan control part 41 performs control for normally turning the first and second fans, the fan control part 41 makes the first fan turn reversely.
