A high-temperature heat store comprising: a storage module (29) comprising a housing (16); at least one heat exchanger (3) arranged outside of the housing and comprising a hot side and a cold side; at least one feed line connected to the housing; a blower (4) arranged outside of the housing and adapted to supply ambient air to the housing through the at least one feed line; at least one discharge line connected to the housing; wherein the at least one feed line includes a first feed line (17) connecting the hot side of the heat exchanger (3) to the housing (16) and further includes a second feed line (19); wherein the at least one discharge line includes a first discharge line (18) and further includes a second discharge line (20); a bypass line (21) connecting the second feed line (19) to the cold side of the heat exchanger (3), wherein the second discharge line (20) is connected to the bypass line (21) upstream of the cold side of the heat exchanger (3); controllable flaps (8-13) arranged in the first discharge line (18), the second discharge line (20), the first feed line (17), the second feed line (19), and the bypass line (21), wherein the controllable flaps control the air supplied by the blower (4) so as to charge the storage module with the air via a first flow path through the second feed line (19), the bypass line (21), the heat exchanger (3), and the first feed line (17) and so as to discharge the storage module (29) via a second flow path through the second feed line (19), the storage module (29), the second discharge line (20), the bypass line (21), and the heat exchanger (3).
