The present invention provides a controlled evacuation ostomy appliance comprising a fluid filled seal for sealing against the human body. The seal has a fluid chamber that includes a fluid impermeable membrane that forms a movable wall of the fluid chamber. The seal also includes one or more ports communicating with the chamber and a resilient device disposed within the fluid chamber. The resilient device substantially fills the fluid chamber. |
