<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk device equipped with an interference type optical disk signal detection system which easily adjusts an optical path difference between two kinds of light, has a high signal amplification effect and is suitable for miniaturization of an optical system. <P>SOLUTION: An interference type optical system is integrally formed to stabilize an optical path difference between signal light and reference light. An adjustment means 113 for adjusting the optical path length of the reference light is added to a reference mirror 114, and then control is made so that a signal amplitude is always maximized in response to the temporal variations of the optical path length due to a variation in thickness of a cover layer of an optical disk 102 and a temperature.
