<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus in which temperature rise is restrained by enhancing natural heat radiation from the surface of an outside cover having multilayered structure and by efficiently radiating heat generated in the apparatus to the outside of the apparatus while maintaining a sound insulation effect by the outside cover. <P>SOLUTION: In the image forming apparatus having: a fixing unit 11 fixing a toner image formed on recording material; and heat and the outside cover 100, the outside cover 100 has multilayered constitution comprising: walls 101 and 102 made of metal; and a middle layer 103 having a sound absorption member for absorbing sound.
