<p>The distributor has two rotors (14) for distribution of the supplied power to the spark plugs of a multi-cylinder engine. The distributor shaft (42) is connected to the camshaft (41) of the engine and forms a shared drive for both rotors. The latter are enclosed in a distributor cap (22). Preferably each rotor is secured to an end section of the distributor shaft. A gear drive connects the distributor shaft to the camshaft. This drive typically consists of two gear, i.e. a drive pinion (43) secured to the camshaft and a gear (44) on the distributor shaft. The latter is mounted in two bearings (45) on the distributor housing (46). The pinion driven gear is mounted between these bearings, and the distributor housing is mounted on the engine block (11).</p> |
