A fibre strip is specified as a prefabricated bristle element for a brush, by means of which efficient production of a brush is to be made possible. The fibre strip consists of a single layer of coplanar fibres which run parallel to one another and are connected to one another congruently in terms of material on a strip-shaped edge region. The fibres consist of a thermoplastic material and are preferably arranged resting directly adjacently against one another, seen in the longitudinal direction of the strip.
