Medical infusion bag tube connection - has two interlocking shells and internal tubes, with flange fitting into recess and sealing ring

At the end of a supply tube connected to an infusion bottle or bag containing liquid to be injected in the vein of a patient is a two section connector (COS, COC), the section (COC) nearest the patient fitting inside the section (COS) at the tube end. The tube section (COS) has a cylindrical shell (10) supporting concentrically a small diameter tube (12) with a funnel shaped inner end (13). The patient section (COC) has a smaller diameter shell (19) to fit inside and similarly supporting a tube (23) with a tapered end (20) to fit inside the other tube. The tube section has a ring shaped space (14) on its end wall, into which fits the rim (17) of the other sections. This rim has corrugations which interlock with grooves (16) inside the tube section. The patient section carries a sealing ring (18). ADVANTAGE - Good connection, avoiding contamination.
