PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the wear of cutting strips by arranging cutting cylinders provided with cutting knives, in such a way as to cooperate with an opposed cylinder provided with the cutting strips, and arranging the cutting knives to be put in cutting motion directed almost radially to the rotation axis of the opposed cylinder while taking part in an instantaneous cutting process. SOLUTION: Cutting strips 16 of a collection cylinder (opposed cylinder) 4 cooperate with cutting knives 13 of both cutting cylinders 8, 9. The circumferential speeds of the cutting knives r3 , and cutting strips 16 are almost equal during cutting with radii 13 r4 and r13 . A web such as a strip sheet or fiber strip material is guided on the collection cylinder 4 and cut into signatures with the cutting knives 13 and cutting strips 16. The cutting cylinders 8, 9 are therefore rotated respectively around the axes of rotation. In this rotary motion, the cutting knife 13 taking part in an instantaneous cutting process moves in the nearly radial direction to the rotation axis 7 of the collection cylinder 4 from the beginning to end of the cutting process. The nearly radial motion has a small parallel offset from the radial direction. |
