<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To expand the aperture rate of red, green, and blue color filters and a black matrix by separating the filters and the black matrix into their respective glass boards and forming them. SOLUTION: Red, green, and blue filters 3 are formed on a bottom glass board 1b, an ITO driving electrode 4 for applying an external voltage and a black matrix 2' of a light shutter layer are formed on a top glass board 1a opposite to a bottom glass board 1, and the black matrix 2' is formed so as to be arrayed in the red, green, and blue filters 3 in line. Thereby, area control is decreased during manufacture of the red, green, and blue filters 3, the increase of an area ratio is possible, and since a space exists between the color filter and the black matrix at cell intervals of 6 to 7 microns between the glass boards 1a and 1b, the aperture rate and visual field angle can be expanded by means of light diffraction.</p> |
