<p>PURPOSE: To provide the new image information storage and retrieval device which can store attached information regarding a variety of digital images without losing it at all. CONSTITUTION: A large-classification identifier 3d is generated which has information showing the classification of the attached information 3c when the attached information 3c is stored on an image information recording medium and has a common format to pieces of attached information and a small- classification identifier 3e is generated which has information showing the classification of the attached information 3c when the attached information 3c is stored on the image information recording medium and has a common format to pieces of attached information, and is subordinate to the 1st identifier 3d; and those generated large-classification and small-classification identifies 3d and 3e are stored together with the attached information 3c and an attached information length code 3d indicating the length of this attached information 3c and separately from a header 2, and image information is retrieved by making good use of the stored large-classification and small-classification identifies 3d and 3e.</p> |
